Our second Art competition “Botanicals” started in June 2020 and concluded on July 16, 2020. Art Room Gallery received entries from many countries around the world: USA, Canada, Brazil, Uruguay, Romania, Hong Kong, Australia, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Singapore, China, United Kingdom, Japan, Taiwan and Russia). The Botanicals theme in this competition included a diversity in types, styles and mediums (oil on canvas, acrylic, photography, pastel, watercolor, mixed media, digital, collage, ink, aquarell and color pencil ). The following evaluation criteria has been used for judging the artwork: creativity, interpretation of the theme, originality and quality of art, overall design, demonstration of artistic ability, and usage of medium. Jury decided to select 117 artworks for inclusion in the exhibition. Aside from First, Second, and Third place Jury also presented Merit awards and Honorable Mention awards.

Statement:
She loved to paint when she was a child. After growing up, she studied watercolor and oil painting for 8 years. In 2011, she began to paint pastels. She once studied pastels with Professor Jason Chang, a master of pastel paint, and also participated in the pastel study course of Master W. Truman Hosner. Her painting focuses on the performance of light and shadow. She loves nature and often uses the landscape of nature as the theme of painting. In 2011, she joined the Pastel Association of Taiwan and is now the chairman of the Pastel Association of Taiwan. She has participated in more than 30 joint exhibitions and won the National Pastel Painting Award in 2013. In 2017, 2019 she was accepted in the 89th and 91th Grand National Exhibition of American Artists Professional League. A solo exhibition in 2018 and 2019. She was also accepted in the Japan Soki exhibition in Tokyo 2017, 2018 and 2019. She was also accepted in LightSpaceTime “SeaScapes” Art Exhibition 2019 and“All Women” Art Exhibition 2020. In 2019, she won the grand award of Japan Soki Exhibition.
