"The art I make explores hidden abstract patterns, random shapes, and aesthetic tensions I see in manufactured objects—particularly within the confines of structures and machinery. Using my camera as a sketchbook, I'm constantly looking for subject matter that intrigues me and makes a memorable impression. Then I try to convey the excitement I felt so that the artwork becomes something that resonates emotionally. In this way, the works are sort of abstract compositions found within the confines of realism, and I use this notion to inform my choices of what to present."
Diana Fernandez - Dance
(bronze sculpture)
32 x 32 x 18 cm
Statement:
I was born in Guatemala and when I was very young I won the award for best sculptor and later I won important recognitions in Europe, in Costa Rica, in Mexico and currently more than 100 international recognitions. It is for me to recognize what can be unearthed: to reveal what magnificence of light and colors of form discover the sensuality that lies within. And my bronze sculptures are also a summary for the concept of art responsibility because are very durable, able to withstand the elements for many years when properly prepared. To develop cosmic visions in iron and fiberglass, is to create new visions of outer space with inner material which also represent the universal experiences that surround us.
