He is also a member of Hong Kong Artists Association and Hong Kong Modem Ink Painting Society. In his youth, John used to work on the Royal Navy's worship for five years and thus his life started to be intertwined with the sea. His sincere passion for the sea continuously inspired his creativity and through the medium of "New Ink", an experimental new way to apply the traditional Chinese ink art skills and present with the concept of western contemporary art. John has found a proper way to express it. His steady and solid brush interestingly shows a vivid and light character. Recently, he invented a new technique "Breaking Force of Light".
Marjorie Moskowitz - Queen Annes Lace II
oil on canvas
48'' x 36''
Statement:
Marjorie Moskowitz, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, holds a B.S in Business, a B.F.A. and an M.F.A. in Painting from Washington University in St. Louis. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She has been represented by galleries, in the Midwest, the East and West Coasts. Her work has been widely collected and is part of many private and public collections. She currently lives in and maintains her studio in Southern California. My paintings examine mark making, the nuances of color and light in nature, involving the close observation of aspects of landscape and the amplification of these images. They magnify a moment in time, and in nature, when plants are at the peak of their reproductive cycle and are fully asserting their seductive beauty/perfection/ splendor/ripeness. The focus has been on select blooms to show the importance of their smallest components. New work will explore their place in a larger landscape.
