Leah Poller - No! The Gas Mask
(bronze)
20'' x 14'' x 14''
Statement:
From Washington to Miami to Paris to Mexico to China to Italy...I make my marks in 3 dimensions. From classical training to breaking the rules, from malleable clay to intransigent bronze, from soul searching silence to vociferous stand-taking as an arts activist, I consider the work "just begun." My favorite expression: " What if..." My solution finding mantra "Whatever..." I deliver "soul-catchers" in the form of portraits, language bronze with 100 delineations of ... bed...and the Muchness of it all...the infinite objects that collide in my assemblages to speak for themselves in strange terms, shouting at the infinity that awaits us all. Being an artist - for 50 years - is freedom unknown through any other vehicle. I wouldn't have it any other way!
